Pop Up Posies Class

Yippee! I'm loving this Pop Up Posies kit and have been working on fun and sassy ideas using the different elements. So, a class is in order to make these fun projects. This is perfect to bring your daughter, or if you're like me and don't have a daughter, then grab a friend and you all can split the class. Here's what you'll make:

Isn't this card so sassy?!

You will receive the Pop Up Posies crafting kit ($12.95 value) which includes the stamp-just for you. You'll make 3 cards, an explosion box (don't worry, it doesn't blow up), treat bag and another flower. Lots of fun things! Plus you'll have accessories left over from the kit to take home and play with.

Cost of class including the kit and all supplies is $25.
Class will be Friday, April 26 at 7 pm AND Saturday, April 27 at 2:00 pm (choose which time is best for you), and will be held at my home in my stamping/craft/bonus room, 113 Artillery Lane, Raleigh.

OR would you prefer to hang out at home and make this at your own time and pace? I can ship this "class" to you. All supplies will be mailed to you with directions. You will need to have adhesive and basic colors of ink-black, brown and turquoise (or you can substitute any of these colors). To ship will be $30 which will include all supplies, written directions and shipping. I will be making a video on the explosion box for ease with making.

Important--Please rsvp by Tuesday, April 16. I will need to order the Pop Up Posies kits in time for the class. You may pay via PayPal or mail me a check. My address is 113 Artillery Lane, Raleigh, NC 27615.

You may pay here or pay under the Classes tab:

How to Make a Treat Box

Making a Triangle Treat Box is super easy. It's great for holding a couple pieces of candy and giving as a gift for any occasion. This is one of the first boxes I learned to make (oh, about 9 years ago) as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! Wow, how time flies. Here it has a Springtime and Easter theme.

You can make different sizes, just double your width size to the length. So 3"x6", 4"x8" or 5"x10", make sense? With a 3x6 you can get 8 out of a 12x12 sheet of Designer Series Paper. Yep, no waste! A 4x8 yields 2 from an 8 1/2"x11". Here's a video showing how to make different sizes along with using a Stampin' Around wheel to decorate your box.

Stamps Used: Storybook Friends #126735 (w) #126737 (c), In Stitches Wheel #121946
Ink and card stock: Calypso Coral

Feeling Sentimental

I am feeling a bit sentimental with sale-a-bration ending tomorrow, so thought I'd do a couple more cards using this delightful set. Can you tell I tend to go for simple designs? And I have to fess up here, that my go to card stock color is Crumb Cake.
Stamp Club made this card for March

Did you know that the iconic phone booths in London are not always red? It's true. We were amazed when we traveled there 3 years ago that some were black or blue. I don't recall seeing an orange, but hey, I had baker's twine to match.

Tomorrow is the last day to order Sale-a-Bration sets and accessories. So if you're needing any SU! supplies, now's a great time to get FREE items with every $50 purchase! Just click on my online store and it'll come to your door.

Easter is on its Way

Isn't that rabbit so precious?! I have to admit that Easter is my favorite holiday. There's something about the dawning of spring, buds on the trees, daffodils blooming, celebrating Jesus' resurrection, and bunnies! I love and collect all kinds of bunnies and rabbits.

I recently got the Storybook Friends set and thought I'd make a cute home decor frame. Although not an Easter set, per se, it's perfect for making Easter-styled cards and projects. I also used the In Stitches jumbo roller that looks like stitching. LOVE this roller! Just roll across your card stock and you've got the neatest embroidery stitching. Here I used Versamark ink in my cartridge then embossed with white.

I used an aqua painter and picked up ink from the ink pads (squeeze your ink pads together and make an inkwell on the top inside of your pads). You can water color beautifully this way.

One thing I suggest when making home decor is to emboss your images. Here I stamped each critter using Basic black ink then embossed with clear emboss powder. This makes the line art pop, makes water coloring easy, plus it'll last a very long time (no fading of the ink).

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Storybook Friends #126737 (c) 126735 (w), In Stitches jumbo roller 121946
Ink: Basic Black (embossed with clear emboss powder)
Card stock: Old Olive, Naturals White, Designer Series Paper (strips)
Accessories: jumbo roller, jumbo cartridge, Versamark re-inker, white emboss powder, Labels Collection Framelits, aquapainters, dotted scallop edge punch

Don't forget to place your Sale-a-bration order so you can get FREE products! Now through March 22.

Using your Scraps

When I'm making a special card (just 1 or 2) then I look around my crafting table for a suitable "scrap" and see where it leads me. I had a bunch of negatives using the Apothecary framelits left over from my last class, so I used it as a frame. Here I used the Bloomin' Marvelous set from Sale-a-bration.

I used a piece of Pool Party card stock behind the frame and repeated the flower and heat embossed with White Emboss powder. If you're wondering why the card looks to be split in the middle, it's because it's a Gate Card. It opens in the middle, like this.

To create a Gate Card, cut card stock (Island Indigo) 4 1/4 x 11 then score at 2 3/4" and 8 1/4". Fold scores into middle. This will make a standard size card, 5 1/2x 4 1/4. The key here is to adhere the front layer only to left side of the card. Then it opens up nicely to reveal:

Isn't that so cool? So don't throw your scraps and "negatives" away, you'll find a creative way to put them to use.

The Bloomin' Marvelous set and the Designer Paper I used on this card are FREE with any $50 order, now through March 22. So if you're needing any SU! supplies, now's a great time to get 'em! You can see all the free choices here.

Supplies:
Stamp: Bloomin' Marvelous
Ink: Whisper White (White emboss powder), Pool Party, Island Indigo
Carstock: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Whisper White
Accessories: Apothecary Framelits, Eyelet Border Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals (I always use these!), Wallpaper emboss folder

More Patterned Occasions

I just love the Sale-a-bration set, Patterned Occasions. Thought I'd share another idea using the cute pants. I stamped the jeans in Pretty in Pink (girl) and Island Indigo (blue), then cut out.

On the pink jeans used a Basic Rhinestone for the button and a Silver Mini brad for the guys jeans. Have you noticed I use Crumb Cake card stock a lot?! With the jeans theme going on, I used half of a Top Note Die, stitched ribbon, faux stitching using the White gel pen and don't you love the hearts border? Ladies in my stamp club made this several weeks ago and seemed to really like it.
Stamped the inside using the Pennant Parade set:

Isn't the Paper Piercing Essentials Pack the bomb? Lots of ladies have been getting the Paper Piercing Pack (FREE with a sale-a-bration order). It matches a whole bunch of our SU! punches like the heart. You can pierce both inside and outside of the punch shape!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Patterned Occasions, Pennant Parade
Ink: Island Indigo, Pretty in Pink
Card stock: Crumb Cake (fave!), Whisper White (fave, as well)
Acessories: Midnight Muse Stitched ribbon, Top Note die, Owl punch (small heart), White gel pen, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack
